How can Mercury’s Branded URL Shorteners enhance our messaging campaigns?

Carriers have begun to block public, free-to-use URL shorteners, such as bitly and tinyurl. Link shorteners have the ability to improve delivery while allowing your campaign to track insights into who clicked your link and how many recipients you’ve reached.

What sets Mercury’s Voter Contact feature apart?

Mercury was built from the ground up with voters in mind. When voters need to hear your message in minutes, rather than days, Mercury allows you to natively pull a list of voters into a project and be off and running.

Users of Campaign Sidekick have the ability to send text messages to voters directly inside of the Campaign Sidekick App. When users canvass a voter, leave a voicemail on a cell phone, or mark an address as Not as Home, they can send follow up text messages directly to the voter with a push of a button.

How does the Dynamic Variables feature personalize mass text messages?

The Dynamic Variables feature allows you to add a recipient’s information, such as the recipient’s first name or city/state,  to each message and give it that personal touch.

How real-time are the ‘Real-Time Statistics’ provided by Mercury?

For every message, Mercury receives a Delivery Receipt (DLR). This is an acknowledgment from a destination carrier network that a message was successfully accepted or rejected (and the reason the message was rejected). This information instantaneously flows into the reporting page of Mercury under each project so users can see the amount of messages delivered successfully.

What are the best practices for using emojis and special characters in professional texts?

Know Your Audience: Understand the demographics and preferences of your audience. Emojis may be more or less appropriate depending on who you’re targeting.

Use Emojis Sparingly: Don’t overload your message with emojis. Use them strategically to emphasize key points or to convey emotion.

Ensure Relevance: Make sure that the emojis you use are relevant to your message and brand. They should enhance understanding or emotional connection, not confuse or distract.

Maintain Professionalism: Even though emojis add a casual tone, maintain a level of professionalism that aligns with your brand. Avoid using emojis that could be perceived as unprofessional or inappropriate.

Does Mercury use an auto-dialer for texting?

No.

Is opt-out legally required?

It’s prudent to honor opt-out requests and the Mercury platform requires this for all messages sent in the platform regardless of the message type, organization sending, or specific circumstances.

Do carriers differ in how they policed unwanted texts?

Yes.  Each carrier has its own proprietary technology for reducing the number of unwanted texts to consumers.  For example, one might place a hard limit on the total number of texts it will deliver on a given day from a given source while another might block all texts from a source that frequently sends texts to invalid numbers.

What are 10DLC Registration requirements and how does Mercury assist in this process?

10 DLC stands for “10-Digit Long Code,” a messaging system designed to enable businesses and organizations to send high-volume text messages using local phone numbers.

We help your campaign get registered in days, not weeks. We’ll ask you for the relevant information and use our direct relationships with the Campaign Registry to simplify the process.
